New Rules For the Market

Due to the Corona Virus it will not be business as usual at our market. We want to return to the days of socializing with vendors and neighbors but until further notice minimize your time at the market so others can shop. Some of the new rules:

  1. If you can, use the links on the October 10 Vendors page to Preorder, Prepay to streamline your shopping.
  2. We encourage shoppers to come to the market alone.
  3. No food or drink may be consumed on site.
  4. Maintain 6 feet of separation at all times.
  5. 9 to 9:30 is reserved for high risk customers.
  6. A limited number of customers are allowed in the market at a time.

We find ourselves with a different farmers market. We expect to take a huge financial hit. Contribute today to help us coordinate a safe farmers market for the community. Use the donate button below or cut a check to the Waitsfield Farmers Market and send to PO Box 1342, Waitsfield, VT 05673 or drop off in person.

Saturday, August 8, 2020

I felt quite joyful this morning when I put my check for $500 into the donation box at my beloved Waitsfield Farmers Market.

This was a very big chunk out of my very limited Social Security income, but here's why I did it: the Waitsfield Farmers Market is the sole remaining tradition to which I can cling in this pandemic time. Neighborhood summer barbecues aren't happening, and my grandchildren, who live in Georgia, cannot visit.

However, our fabled Waitsfield Farmers Market, thanks to the hard work of staff and volunteers, is still there for me. Being able to buy gleaming produce, artisanal cheese, fresh eggs, and other culinary delights is the highlight of my week.

So many farmers markets have folded given the daunting realities of this unique time in history, but, with the help of so many volunteers, you have ensured that we still have our beloved Waitsfield Farmers Market, a treasured MRV resource. Thank you for all of your incredibly hard work in making this happen!
